DESCRIPTION:Access Champions Volunteer Training\n\n\nAre you a Calderdale based organisation with volunteers who would like to become Access Champions as part of the Year of Culture? \n\n\nWe have free training available to support you and your volunteers to provide excellent customer service to disabled people their families and carers. \n\n\nUpcoming training dates: \n\n\nThursday 20th February 10 am – 1 pm at Orange Box \n\n\nTuesday 18th March 5 – 8 pm at Orange Box \n\n\nThursday 10th April 3 – 6 pm at Orange Box \n\n\n  \n\n\nThis training will be co-delivered by disabled people in partnership with the Accessible Calderdale Project. \n\n\nWhat will be covered: \n\n\n\nThe Social Model of Disability\nAttitudes and behaviours\nInclusive language\nThe barriers facing disabled people in society\nStereotypes\, myths and misconceptions about disabled people\nDo’s and Don’ts – scenario analysis\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis training programme is designed to provide volunteers with the support and guidance needed to offer a warm and inclusive welcome to each and every visitor at our Year of Culture events and beyond. \n\n\nYou will get a T shirt\, High vis vest to wear on event days and a bag of free resources to support visitors at your venue. \n\n\nTo book your free space contact culturedale@calderdale.gov.uk \n
